Carmel, Ind. – Transylvania diving sophomore Mackie Redford was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference's Athlete of the Week for women's diving, the conference announced on Monday.

Redford, a sophomore from Lexington, Kentucky (Lexington Catholic HS), led the Transylvania women's swimming and diving team to a fourth-place finish out of nine teams this past week at the three-day Oberlin Invitational held in Oberlin, Ohio.

The sophomore won both the women's 1-meter dive and 3-meter dive events to guide the Pioneers into the top four of a loaded field of Division III teams.

Redford captured a win in the women's 1-meter dive with 418.35 points and took first place in the women's 3-meter dive, gathering 421.80 points to top off her dominant week.

This is the second athlete of the week award won by Redford this season and the fifth overall athlete of the week award corralled by the Transylvania swimming and diving team this season.

The Oberlin Invitational wraps up the fall portion of the Pioneers' schedule. Transylvania returns to the pool for competition at Sewanee on Saturday, January 15.
