LEXINGTON, KY -Â Transylvania University hosted Franklin College and University of Pikeville on Saturday afternoon. Transylvania picked up the victory over Pikeville.Â
The Pioneers were led by a standout effort from Adam Tichy, who opened the meet with a commanding win in the men's 1650-yard freestyle, clocking an 18:32.19. Hayes Doolin added a victory in the 100-yard breaststroke, touching first in 1:03.86, while sophomore Cash Doolin swept the 3-meter diving event with 183.80 points.
Kole Brannock rounded out the Transylvania victories, taking the 100-yard butterfly in 53.46 seconds to outpace a strong Franklin lineup.
The Pioneers delivered several impressive performances and multiple runner-up finishes. Joseph Kissing narrowly missed a win in the 200 IM by just one-tenth of a second (2:04.43), while Transylvania's 400 freestyle relay of Brannock, Isaiah Perkins, Tichy, and Hayes Doolin finished second in 3:25.81.
On the women's side, Elliott Havens led Transylvania with runner-up finishes in both the 50 yard freestyle (25.72) and 100 butterfly (1:03.20).
Riley Shaw delivered one of the top performances of the day with a second-place finish in the 100 backstroke(1:03.14), while Emerson Campbell (58.61) and Ameliya Lynn (1:12.76) added key scoring efforts in sprint and backstroke events.
The women's 400 freestyle relay of Shaw, Havens, Lynn and Campbell capped the meet on a high note, taking second place in 3:53.42
Transylvania is back in action this week at the Centre Invitational. The meet kicks of on Friday, November 21 and will wrap up on Sunday.Â
