Transylvania softball senior pitcher Kameron Bowling has been selected as the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for Softball, the conference announced on Monday.

Bowling, a senior from Louisville, Kentucky (Holy Cross HS) claimed the conference's first edition of the 2021 player of the week award from the circle.

The senior earned the honors with a resounding performance in last Friday's season-opening 15-0 win at archrival Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. With the Pioneers unleashing their offense in the top half of all five frames, Bowling made quick work of the Colonels, tossing a no-hitter over five innings and striking out 10 of 17 batters faced.

Bowling's dependable performance vaulted the Pioneers to a 1-0 start for the season as the second scheduled game at Centre was cancelled due to weather. Bowling's 10 strikeouts mark the fourth occurrence over the last two seasons in which the senior has dealt 10 or more strikeouts in a start.

This is the sixth time Bowling has captured HCAC player of the week honors over her career.
