Lexington, Ky. – The Transylvania men's tennis team rolled to an impressive 9-0 victory over the Franklin College Grizzlies at Top Seed Tennis Club on Sunday afternoon.
The Pioneers improve to 3-4 overall and 2-1 on conference play with the victory while the Grizzlies fall to 3-5 on the season and 1-2 in league play.
The Pioneers opened the match with a thrilling 8-6 victory by the team of Arjun Gupta and Hunter Gregg in the No. 1 doubles match. Nick and Noah McNamee capped off doubles play by claiming a convincing 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles.
Transylvania continued to dominate the Grizzlies into singles competition. Gupta cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles while Nick McNamee claimed a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles and Noah McNamee won 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 3 singles matchup.
The onslaught continued with a 6-1, 6-0 victory via Jon-Michael Schulte in the No. 4 singles match. Gregg capped off the day with a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 5 singles, propelling Transylvania to the 9-0 victory.
