Approaching its season opener in Southern California on Friday afternoon, the No. 11 Transylvania volleyball team storms into the fall 2021 season with arguably its highest expectations in program history.

Coming off three straight Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season titles and back-to-back HCAC Tournament crowns, the Pioneers have their sights set on their second straight NCAA Tournament appearance.

After posting a 15-3 record in 2021 and soaring to its highest national ranking in program history with a No. 3 ranking in the country last February, the Pioneers under fourth-year head coach Amy Barmore seek to write more history.

Junior Karrington Jackson and sophomore Madison Sweeney profile the upcoming season for the Pioneers, which begins on Friday with back-to-back matchups against Pomona-Pitzer and California Lutheran in the Los Angeles metro for a four-game nonconference slate.
