In the semi-finals of the HCAC Tournament, the Pioneers defeated Hanover with a 3-0 sweep of doubles and clinched the win after two singles matches.

Doubles:

Grace Gardner/Katherine Taylor 8-3 W

Maria Hayes/Jessica Burton 8-5 W

Maddy Williams/Christina Duvall 8-4 W 

Singles:

Taylor: unfinished, 1-6, 2-5

Gardner: unfinished, 2-6, 5-0

Burton: 6-1, 6-1 W

Duvall: unfinished, 6-4, 1-2

Hayes: unfinished, 6-2, 2-0 

Williams: 6-3, 6-2 W  

Matches were unfinished due to the clinch of the win by the Pioneers after going up 5-0 on the Panthers after three huge doubles points and great wins by Burton and Williams to secure the victory and head into tomorrow's finals. 

"This team has just performed excellently under pressure all year and today was no different. They came out with fire and swept the doubles which is huge in tourney matches that are played to clinch. Very proud of them. Congrats to Maddy and Maria for their first conference tournament victories," said Head Coach Bill Carey. 

The Pioneers will go for the championship tomorrow, 10/16/22,  at Top Seed at 11:00 AM.
