In the first game of their double feature at DePauw, nationally ranked #23 Transy Volleyball defeated DePauw 3-0.
In game two, the Pioneers defeated Washington University in St. Louis, who is ranked number one in Region VIII, 3-0 as well for the full sweep on the day. They won 27-25 in the first set and then finished off the match in two sets, 25-18 and 25-23.
"We had a day defensively. Sylvie Miller had 21 digs against Wash U. Grace Ward with 40 assists and adding 12 digs. We slowed the ball down at the net and didn't let the ball hit the floor. That changed the match. We had 84 digs to their 59," said Head Coach Amy Barmore. "We finished the regular season at 23-5 and I'm proud. This weekend was our test to see where we are nationally. We showed up, played with heart and fought to sweep the #7 team in the country. I am proud of where we are going into the postseason next week. We are ready."
The Pioneers will host the HCAC Tournament next week as the number one seed after finishing the conference undefeated.
