Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Grace Ward moves within six assists of all-time assists record, No. 16 Transy Volleyball wins 12th straight match

ALBION, Mich. - No. 16 Transy Volleyball earned their 11th and 12th straight victories on Saturday afternoon after defeating Adrian College in four sets and Albion College in five sets. The wins improve Transy to 20-5 on the season as they head into their final four games left in the regular season.

The Pioneers dropped the first set to the Bulldogs 23-25 but would win the next three 25-23, 25-16, and 25-17. Transy's offense shrugged off the slow start and would control most of the match the rest of the way. TU held the bulldogs to under 10 kills each set.

GAME 2

Like the first match, Transy dropped the first set after another slow start, but would recover in set two. The Pioneers made short work of the Britons in sets two and three, winning 25-17 and 25-19. Albion would take the fourth set to give Transy its first five set match since September 9th versus Marietta College. Just like that match, Transy would come out victorious.

After breaking a 4-4 tie with a 5-0 run, Transy scored 5 of the next 6 points to extend their lead to 13-6. Albion then scored 8 consecutive points to take a 15-14 lead. Cate Scheper's 10th kill of the match tied it at 15-15, then her 11th and 12th kills of the match gave Transy the 17-15 win. It's the first time all season the Pioneers have needed more than 15 points in the final set to put away an opponent.

The win moves Transy to 3-0 all time vs the Britons.
