RICHMOND, Ind. - Transy Field Hockey won its first conference matchup this afternoon in exciting fashion. The Pioneers won on a penalty shot in the first overtime as
Sidney Aldridge drew a penalty and then scored her 7th goal of the season to win the game for the Pioneers.
The Pioneers scored two unanswered goals after giving up an early goal.
Maddy Morgan scored back to back goals for Transy in the first half to give TU a 2-1 lead. Earlham tied the match with just five minutes to play to force the fourth overtime of the season for Transy.
In the first overtime period
Sidney Aldridge drew a penalty at the 4 minute mark. Aldridge then ripped a shot to the top left corner to earn the Pioneers their first NCAC victory.
Transy outshot the Quakers 13 to 10 and
Libby Bringard had 5 saves on the night. She made her biggest save of the night on a penalty shot attempt in the fourth period.Â
The win moved Transy to 5-12 overall as they head to their final regular season game against Depauw this season.
Gracie Bowling earned the only assist for Transy tonight, her third of the season.
