LEXINGTON- The Transylvania Men's Soccer team (1-5-3) took on Hanover College Wednesday night, looking to snap their losing streak.

The First Half

This game was fast from start to finish, with both teams playing as if they were shot out of a cannon. Both teams were close to even in shot attempts combining for 13 shots in total this half saw Hanover get more corner kick attempts this half, 3 to 1. Although physcial, this half would end scoreless. 

The Second Half

In the second half, Transylvania and Hanover were just as physical and fast as the last half. Hanover would score the first goal of the game in the 48th minute, stunting the Pioneer attack.

As play continued both teams showed spirited play until Hanover was awarded a Yellow card in the 68th minute, giving momentum for the Pioneers to find the equalizer. This goal came in the form of a corner kick by Dylan Barnes, connecting with Josh Carr who headed it top left, winning the scrum in the box.

With the game getting more physical, both teams put it into high gear. This all culminated in the 85th minute when the Pioneers were issued a foul, leading to a free kick resulting in the deciding goal, as the Pioneers lost 2-1.   

Up next for the Pioneers is another home game as they take on Anderson University October 8th at 4PM. The Pioneers get a second chance to defend home field as their lengthy home stent continues.  It'll be Senior Day fo the Pioneers.
