LEXINGTON - Transylvania Men's Basketball snapped a two game losing streak with a 71-65 win over Wheaton College. Transy led the entire game, and survived a late scare from the Thunder to pull away with their first home win of the season.

Jaylan Green led Transy in scoring for the fourth straight game, finishing with 18 points. Colby Napier finished with a season high 16 points on 6 for 9 shooting. His 16 points were the most for him since his 33 point pefroamcne last season versus Earlham. Simon Smith finished with 11 points. Matthew Teague was the fourth Pioneer to reach double digit scoring. It's just the second time this season Transy has had four players earn double digit points. Hunter Penn finished with 12 rebounds to lead both teams.

Transylvania shot 47.3% from the field, its second best of the season.

Wheaton made it a four point game with 20 seconds to play, but couldn't take advantage of missed Pioneer free throws. Matthew Teague made both free throws with 7 seconds to play to give Transy the 71-65 victory.

The Pioneers move back to .500 on the season and get a win before heading into their first conference game of the season next Saturday versus Defiance. Tip off is set for 1 PM and it's Hall of Fame Day. The Transylvania Women's Basketball team will face Defiance at 3 PM.
