CARMEL, Ind. - Transylvania Women's Basketball Fifth Year forward
Dasia Thornton has been named Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the conference announced this afternoon. It's the first time this season a Transylvania Women's Basketball player has earned the honors.
Thornton had a milestone week. In the win over Wittenberg last Wednesday, Thornton earned her 750th career rebound. She finished the game with 8 points and 5 total rebounds. In the 65 point victory over Defiance College this past Saturday, Dasia eclipsed 1,000 career points with her 12th point of the game which came on a free throw.
Thornton currently averages 16.4 points per game and 8 rebounds per game.

Dasia and the Pioneers continue their season this Wednesday on the road in Franklin, Indiana against Franklin College. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
