On the road at Otterbein, Transy Women's Tennis wins a close one 5-4. Sophomore Katherine Taylor battled back in set three to take her singles match after a doubles win with junior Grace Gardner. Freshmen Maria Hayes came back with back-to-back set wins after her opponent took set one. Since last fall, the Pioneers have won 14 straight matches against conference and non-conference opponents. 

Doubles:

Taylor/Gardner- W 8-3

Burton/Hayes- L 5-8

Williams/Duvall- W 8-4

Singles:

Taylor- W 6-2, 4-6, 6-4

Gardner- L 6-3, 6-3

Burton- W 6-3, 6-0

Duvall- L 3-6, 0-6

Hayes- W 1-6, 6-3, 6-3

Williams- L 2-6, 6-4, 10-6

Coach Carey said about the team's performance: "Great 5-4 team win against a group we lost to 3-6 last year. Amazing comeback from First-Year Maria Hayes and 3 set win from Katherine Taylor. Super proud of this group and can't wait to see them against Centre next Saturday!"

The Pioneers will be at Centre on Saturday, March 4th.
