On a Wednesday night doubleheader, Transy Softball completed the two game sweep of Covenant College. In game one, the Pioneers started strong with a four-run first inning to put pressure on the Scots. While the Scots added two in the top of the third, the Pioneers added their own two runs in the bottom of the sixth before finishing off the game in the top of the seventh.

1st inning: C. Murray grounded out to 2b, RBI; A. Schuck advanced to second; T. Senter scored.
6th inning: A. Frazier singled, 2 RBI; K. Smith scored; C. Murray scored.
Seniors Abby Frazier and Annie Shuck led the Pioneers with Frazier going 2-4, with 2 RBI, and a run scored and Shuck going 1-3, with 2 RBI. Junior Carlee Jeter earned her third win in the circle on the year.
For game two, the Pioneers jumped on the lead again in the bottom of the first, this time with heads up baserunning from Katie Mewes on a wild pitch. In the third inning, the Pioneers extended their lead to 6-0 as they strung together key hits and advancing runners.

4th inning: A. Schuck homered, RBI.
Shuck led the Pioneers offense again in game going 2-3 with 2 RBI, a homerun, and a run scored. Sophomore Ry'Ann Tharp chipped in with a solid 1-3 2RBI night. Freshman Sophie Moshos also earned her fourth win in the circle for the season.
"I thought we played with better energy in the second game," said Coach Hendrickson. "The team has the potential to be very good. If we play our game, we are as good as anyone."
The Pioneer will travel to Virginia Beach for games over Spring Break before returning home for the Pioneer Classic.
