The 2023 Transylvania University Baseball season came to an end in Kokomo, IN today in a 7-6
heartbreaker. The Pioneers ended the season with a 24-19 record; a 2 nd place finish in the HCAC, and a
deep conference tournament run that should serve a young team in years going forward.

Coach Getsee had this to say after the game:

"The end result is disappointing, there is no denying that. However, I cannot begin to describe how
proud I am of this group and the success they had throughout the course of this season. Whether that
success came easy or not, they found a way to put together a season that is worthy of recognition. The
people we need to be applauding right now are our seniors however. Evan Burnett, Griffin Hall, Josh
Cain, Chase Harvard, Matt Kirkland, Quinn Bowring, and Conor Baxter. What a tremendous career they
put together. At the end of the day, we ask everyone to leave the program in a better place than when
they came in. In my opinion, they did that unequivocally and I can't wait to see what they accomplish in
the future".
