LEXINGTON - #17 Transy Volleyball has announced a blackout theme for this Wednesday's home match vs AVCA Preseason Nationally ranked Wittenberg University, the team announced on Monday. 

The #17 Pioneers (10-5) face the Tigers (2-8) in a rematch of last season's September 20th matchup in Springfield that saw the Tigers defeat Transy in four sets. Transy hasn't defeated Wittenberg since the 2019 season.

It is the Pioneers last non-conference game until October 4th. They'll open HCAC play against Rose Hulman (10-5) this Saturday at 3 PM at the Clive M. Beck Center.

The 2023 Women's Basketball National Champions, Transy Women's Basketball, will be honored between sets two and three with their 2023 Championship ring ceremony. 16 players and 5 coaches will receive their 2023 rings. The Pioneers finished their historic 2022-23 season 33-0 and took down Christopher Newport in the National Championship game in Dallas, Texas last season 57-52 for the first National Championship in school history. The defending National Champions open their 2023-24 season in an exhibition against defending 2023 DII National Champions Ashland University in Centerville, Ohio on October 27th before facing Eastern Kentucky University November 2nd in Richmond, Kentucky. They'll officially open their season November 12th in Greencastle, Indiana against Depauw University.
