LEXINGTON - The No. 2 ranked Pioneers moved to 12-0 on the season and earned their 45th consecutive victory with a 77-43 win over Earlham College this afternoon behind scoring efforts from
Kennedi Stacy and
Dasia Thornton.
Stacy was lights out in the first quarter, scoring the Pioneers first 14 points behind 4 three point shots and a layup. She finished the quarter with 19 points and the game with 22.
The Pioneers went into the half up 33-17 after holding the Quakers to just 5 second quarter points. Transylvania scored 44 of their 77 points in the second half to pass their season average of 71.7 points and cruise to a 34 point win.
Dasia Thornton scored 19 points in the win. It's her 8th consecutive game scoring double figures. Her season total is now up to 16.1 points per game.
With the win, Transylvania moves past Hope College (2005-2007 teams) and is one win away from tying Tennessee's 46 game win streak set in the 1996-1998 seasons.
The win is Head Coach
Juli Fulks' 381st of her career.
Transylvania (12-0, 5-0) will face Anderson University (6-5, 2-2) this Saturday at 2 PM.
