LEXINGTON, KY - Transylvania University defeated Earlham College 1-0 to earn another HCAC Conference victory at Pat Deacon Stadium on Wednesday. 

Transy would display their offense early, taking eight shots on Earlham in the first half. Henry Roetker would score for Transy at the 37:22 mark, assisted by Kevin Nevarez from Leo Bill's corner kick. In the second half, Transy would continue to find opportunities, sending in nine shots on the Quaker defense. Earlham would take three shots in the second half, two saved by Jackson Holt. Earlham would find their last shot with less than two minutes remaining as Mason Paul's shot missed high. Nathan White would find himself with an opportunity in the final thirty seconds of the match, with a late shot saved by Earlham's Ryland Wamsley.

The victory gives Transy their third HCAC win of the season, improving to 3-1-1 in the conference.

Head Coach Ben Federici was impressed with his team's performance in a physical matchup. 

"Three points is always a good thing, very happy with the overall performance from our guys," said Federici. "Some really good moments all around and some great opportunities created. On a different day we could have scored four or five goals, but that's the game sometimes. I'm really proud of the team for keeping their cool amidst some very physical challenges and tense moments."

Transy will continue HCAC play on Saturday, October 19th, as they host Manchester at Pat Deacon Stadium at 4 p.m.
