LEXINGTON, KY - The Pioneer Cross Country Team made the short trip to Louisville for the Live in Lou Race. After a few weeks off the team was eager for yet another race day and had high hopes to continue their impressive results. 

For the first time in program history, the Women's Cross Country team raced in the Live in Lou Blue 5K Race.. This is the second division of the three collegiate races held at Tom Sawyer Park. Junior, Sophie Richards led the way for the Pioneers and raced to a personal best with a 20:47.0. Just a few spots behind, Junior, Camden Wilson finished second for the Pioneers, with a time of 21:11.4. Below are the full results of the Women's 5K:

163rd: Emilie Gaudron - 21:17.3
181st: Ellie Thornsbury - 21:41.0
184th: Kelsey Weil - 21:47.1
192nd: Libby Perkins - 21:58.7
196th: Eve Brunell - 22:01.7
209th: Maggie Simmons - 22:34.6

The Men's Cross Country Team was again led by seniors Dalton Nunn and Nathan Very. Nunn finished inside of the top 45 with a time of 27:37.4, while Very was just a few spots behind finishing in 54th with a time of 28:09.9. The team finished the 8K Silver race in 14th with a total score of 336. The full results of the Men's 8K are listed below:

103rd: Cooper Chandler - 29:31.8
121st: Hagan Schoolfield - 30:02.0
126th: Nate Rogers - 30:13.0

After the long and star-studded races, Head Coach Matt Andrews stated "Not either team's best race day but facing adversity is part of our sport and I am confident both groups will grow from today's experience. Looking forward to seeing adjustments we make when we race at Wilmington in two weeks.". 

The Pioneers next race is at the Jenna Strong Invitational in Wilmington, Ohio on Friday October 18th.
