LEXINGTON - The Transylvania Men's Basketball team took down Earlham College 77-54 to improve to 19-6, 14-4, their best regular season and conference regular season finish since 2012-2013.
Before the game Transylvania honored their four seniors
Jaylan Green,
Brandon Cromwell,
Simon Smith, and
Matthew Teague. All four ended their final game on Don Lane Court with a win.
The Pioneers dominated from tipoff and quickly found themselves up 10-2. Transy would go on a 20-8 run over a six minute span, and went into the half leading 43-22.
Transy made 18 shots while holding Earlham to just 9 in the first half.
Both teams shot similarly in the second half, but the 22 point first half lead was too much for Earlham. The Pioneers earned the series sweep over the Quakers. Transy dominated in the paint, outscoring Earlham 50-22.
11 different Pioneers scored in the win.
Matthew Teague led the team with 15 points and 4 assists.
Jaylan Greene finished with 10, and finished the regular season scoring 10 or more points in every game.
Colby Napier finished with 9.
Brandon Cromwell,
Simon Smith,
Zach Stahlman, and
Hunter Barr all finished with 7 points.
Transylvania locks in the two seed for the HCAC tournament next week at Anderson. They'll play in Friday's semifinal game, winner TBD.
