LEXINGTON - For the sixth consecutive season the no. 2 ranked Pioneers have won the HCAC tournament championship after defeating Mount St. Joseph 74-46 behind a career night from
Kennedi Stacy who scored 32 points.
After finishing the regular season unbeaten, Transy earned the 1 seed for the tournament and defeated Franklin 82-51 last night before winning the HCAC tournament for the sixth straight season.
With the win, Transy earns the HCAC's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. It's the 10th time in program history the Pioneers have reached the NCAA tournament.

Finding themselves down 10-11 with under five minutes to play in the first quarter, Transy went on a 19-2 scoring run to lead 29-13 heading into the second quarter after shooting 66%. The Pioneers didn't let up and went into the half up 49-27. The nation's top scoring defense held the Lions to only 4 points in the 3rd quarter to squash any MSJ comeback and would only give up 18 total second half points.Â
After the game, reigning HCAC Player of the Year
Dasia Thornton was named to the All-Tournament team after putting up back to back double-double performances. She finished with 14 points to go along with 13 rebounds. She now sits at 954 career rebounds.
Reigning HCAC Defensive Player of the Year
Kennedi Stacy was named HCAC tournament MVP. With her 32 point performance, she scored 48 points in the tournament while shooting 54%. Stacy had 16 points after the first quarter. Her 32 points were a career high. She finished 6 for 11 on field goals.
Juli Fulks earned her 396th career win, and her sixth HCAC tournament championship. Her team's have now earned a spot in the NCAA tournament for the seventh time.
