Transylvania defeats New Jersey City 7-3, extend record to 9-2

LEXINGTON - Transylvania Baseball continued their impressive form, extending their winning streak to 9-2 after defeating New Jersey City in the four game series opener at Legends Stadium. The Pioneers showcased their dominance with a commanding 7-3 victory over the Gothic Knights.

Transylvania's lineup put up 7 runs, while  delivering 13 hits over the course of 8 ½ innings.

Henry Craig led Transylvania's pitching charge, earning his second win of the season after delivering a solid performance over 5 innings, allowing 2 earned runs while striking out 5.
Braden Becker secured the save with an impressive 4 innings pitched, yielding only 1 earned run and striking out 4 batters.

Trent Pahl, Trent Youngblood, and Walter Munday led the offense on the afternoon, including a home run by Pahl in the 3rd, a two run home run from Youngblood in the 8th, and Munday with three RBI's.

Throughout the game, Transylvania's defense stood strong, effectively restricting New Jersey City's chances to score.

The bottom of the 5th inning saw a pivotal moment when Walter Munday doubled to drive in two runs, swinging the momentum in Transylvania's favor.

In the bottom of the 8th, Youngblood hit a home run to extend Transylvania's lead, ultimately securing the win. It was his third home run of the season.

Transylvania displayed a balanced performance, with effective pitching complemented by timely hitting and strong defensive plays.

With a 9-2 record and scoring 8.27 runs per game, Transylvania continues to impress in the opening weeks of the season
