LEXINGTON- It was a sunny Senior Day here at the Transylvania Tennis Courts where Women's Tennis celebrated 2 seniors on their dominating win against Berea College. The Pioneers would win today's match in a decisive 9-0 win.

The day started with senior recognition as Grace Gardner and Christina Duvall were recognized for their positive impact on the program on and off the court. Grace Gardner has left her mark remaining undefeated in conference play at 32-0.. Christina Duvall in her first year would win every doubles match in the conference tournament, the first time it had been done in 8 years, leaving 32-6 in conference play. 

Starting in #1 Doubles the Pioneers would throw a wrinkle in the pairings as Christina Duvall and Grace Gardner would play together, winning #1 Doubles 8-1. In #2 Doubles the pair of Meredith Cooper and Maria Hayes would dominate, winning 8-1 as well. In #3 Doubles the pairing of Katie Shaffer and Alicia Grinder would round out the doubles sweep finalizing a 8-3 win. 

Moving to Singles, the Pioneers would keep the pressure on winning each Singles match. In #1 Singles Grace Gardner would win 6-0, and 6-0 to complete her Senior Day send off with a win. In #2 Singles Christina Duvall would follow in her fellow senior's footsteps as she would also win 6-0, and 6-0. In #3 Singles Maddy Williams would win 6-1 and 6-0, as #4 Singles would be won by Eva Clark where she went 6-1, and 6-2. In #5 Singles Abi Kuban would win 6-0, and 6-1 while in #6 Singles the sweep would be completed after Alicia Grider would win 6-0, and 6-0. 

The Transylvania Women's Tennis team will jump back into conference play after a week hiatus. Anderson University will travel to Lexington as the Pioneers will be back at Top Seed Tennis Club Saturday April 6th at 11AM.
