Juli Fulks to earn First Team All-American, as
Madison Kellione earned the honors last season.
The reigning HCAC Player of the Year, Thornton finished the season with 13 double-doubles, while averaging 15.3 points per game and 8.7 rebounds per game and leading Transylvania to their second consecutive Final Four.
Thornton has been one of the center pieces of Transylvania's historic 64 game winning streak, which is 3rd all time in NCAA DIII Women's Basketball history. During the streak, Dasia scored 890 points and grabbed 605 rebounds. She earned 27 double-doubles during the winning streak. This season Thornton had a season high 25 points against Wisconsin-Lutheran and a season high 15 rebounds against Mount St. Joseph.
In her final game of her career in the NCAA Final Four against NYU, Thornton grabbed her 1,000th career rebound to become the second player in program history to score 1,000 points and grab 1,000 rebounds in a career.
Dasia ranks 2nd all time in program history in rebounds with 1,000 and 9th in points with 1,411.
Thornton was named to the WBCA Coaches First Team All-America, joining Head Coach
Juli Fulks who was named WBCA Head Coach of the Year. Associate Head Coach
Hannah Varel was named WBCA DIII Assistant Coach of the Year.
