Women's Lacrosse lose at home against DePauw

LEXINGTON - Transy Women's Lacrosse fell to 1-4 on the season after dropping a hard fought game to DePauw University, 9-20 on Saturday afternoon.

After taking a 2-1 lead early, DePauw responded back with nine unanswered goals. Transy went into the half down 4-10. The teams traded goals to start the third, but DePauw scored  three straight to extend their lead. Transylvania closed to within eight early in the fourth but the Tigers sealed the win by scoring four of the next five.

"Today was tough, but this team continued to fight no matter what the score was, and no matter how much time was left on the clock." Head Coach Rachael Bragg said after the game.

Six different Pioneers scored in the game, with Charlotte Green earning her third straight game with a hat-trick. She added an assist for a total of four points. Linley Dawson scored two goals, and Sofie Garrett, Diana Bruder,Sophia Sparks, and TaNya Barbee all added a goal. 

 "They worked together and pushed each other to bring out the best versions of themselves. We're going to continue to work hard and prep for our next game against Wittenberg." Bragg said.

The Pioneers will be on the road for the next four games as they travel to Springfield Ohio to face the Wittenberg Tigers on Tuesday, March 12th at 4 PM.
