LEXINGTON, Ky. - On a Tuesday evening at home, Transylvania Women's Lacrosse faced Hanover for the second to last game of the regular season, winning 22-6 to remain undefeated in conference play. The Pioneers cleared with 89% efficiency and collected a total of 21 ground balls on the night compared to Hanover's nine.
Seven different Pioneers scored in tonight's win. Junior Charlotte Green earned a new season high in goals, scoring six. Green also added an assist and won four draw controls. Junior TaNya Barbee added four goals and set a new season high in assists, totaling four. Freshman Sofie Garrett also contributed to the scoring, totaling four goals and two assists. Fifth-year senior Sophia Sparks tied both her season highs in goals and assists, scoring a hat trick while adding four assists. Sparks also had three caused turnovers on the night. Junior Diana Bruder had an all-around performance, scoring three goals while leading the team in ground balls with five. Bruder earned a new season high in caused turnovers with five and won two draw controls. Senior Linley Dawson earned a season-high in draw controls, winning six. Dawson also added a goal and an assist and collected three ground balls. Junior Lula Thompson added a goal and an assist.
The Pioneers will be back in action for their last regular season home game on Saturday, April 27th at 1:00 pm, facing Anderson University to celebrate senior day and for a chance to win the HCLC regular season title.
