Lexington, KY -  Transylvania University is proud to announce the launch of a new stunt program within the athletic department. The team is set to make their debut season in the 25-26 academic year. This new program is one of the fastest growing female sports in the country and aims to not only enhance the athletic experience, but also offer new opportunities for both the student athletes and the fans.

Stunt is a head to head game broken down into four quarters; that is performed by two teams who carry out skilled based routines in a variety of different categories. Teams participate in: partner stunts, jumps and tumbling, pyramids and tosses and team routines. The format of stunt allows the coaches to field athletes that specialize in certain aspects of the sports. For example, an athlete may be a phenomenal backspot/base, but not a great tumbler. This allows the coach to have the option to play them in only quarters one and two, where tumbling is not involved

Quarter One: Partner Stunts:
Each routine is 30 seconds in length and the routines will increase in difficulty. Easier routines require more stunt groups, while the higher difficulty of routines use two or even one group. This is a way for the teams to match up your best bases, tops, and spotters to go head-to-head.

Quarter Two: Pyramid and Tosses:
Each routine is 30 seconds in length and the routines will increase in difficulty. Quarter Two routines use eight, twelve, or sixteen athletes.

Quarter Three: Jumps and Tumbling
Each routine is 30 seconds in length and the routines will increase in difficulty. There are seven athletes that are used for every routine, tumblers will vary depending on the difficulty of the routine.

Quarter Four: Combined Team Routine
This is a combination between quarters one through three and lasts 90 seconds. Athletes will rotate on and off the floor as needed depending on the sections. Teams are eligible to score a point for each of the three segments of the routine.

Vice President of Athletics & Director of Athletics Holly Sheilly stated "I am deeply passionate about expanding opportunities for our students, and collegiate stunt is one of the fastest-growing sports for women. At Transylvania, our commitment to excellence drives everything we do, and this new sport offers yet another avenue for us to excel and set new standards."

Transylvania Stunt will join 16 other Division III schools, and be the third university in the state of Kentucky (University of Kentucky and Northern Kentucky University) with a NCAA Stunt Team.
