CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) men's soccer teams competed in week ten of the 2025 season. Transylvania faced off against Franklin on Wednesday night and walked away with an 11-1 victory. Junior,
Cole Varela, played a huge role within the offense. Varela finished the game with two goals and two assists.

Defensive Player of the Week:
Jacob Pohl (Avon, Ind.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Defender | Senior - Jacob Pohl helped lead Rose-Hulman to a 1-0 win over Manchester, where RHIT clinched the #3-seed in the HCAC Tournament. Pohl played all 90 minutes at centerback, where he led Rose-Hulman's defense that allowed just one shot on goal. Additionally, Pohl assisted on the game-winning goal, 20 seconds before halftime.

- William Clark (Mount Blanchard, Ohio) Bluffton University | Midfield | First Year - Clark helped propel the Beavers to their fifth straight Heartland Conference tournament berth with an assist and a goal in Bluffton's 3-2 win over Mount St. Joseph in the regular-season finale Wednesday afternoon. He set up the Beavers' first goal and then his free kick from just outside the box into the top left corner made it 2-0 early in the first half. His work led to Bluffton earning conference tourney hosting rights for just the second time in men's soccer history.
- Jude Fossum (Pittsburg, Pa.) Earlham College | Midfield | First Year - Freshman Jude Fossum scored two goals on two shots in Earlham's final game of the season to beat Berea.
- Brandon Elizarraras (Jasper, Ind.) Hanover College | Forward | Sophomore - Brandon led the Panthers to a 4-1 win at Anderson, recording two goals on two shots through 34 minutes of action.
- Oliver Fila (New Rochelle, N.Y.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Midfielder | Junior - Oliver Fila helped lead Rose-Hulman to a 1-0 win over Manchester, where RHIT clinched the #3-seed in the HCAC Tournament. Fila scored the lone goal with 20 seconds remaining in the first half to give Rose-Hulman the victory.
Defensive Players:
- Ryland Wamsley (Beavercreek, Ohio) Earlham College | Goalkeeper | Sophomore - Ryland Wamsley collected four saves to hold out a shutout over Berea in the season finale for the Quakers.
- Andrew Beck (Louisville, Ky.) Hanover College | Defender | Junior - Beck led the Panther backline as they defeated Anderson 4-1. The junior helped hold the Ravens to just four shots, only two of which landed on frame.
