TERRE HAUTE, IN - Transylvania was outlasted by Rose-Hulman in their Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) semfinal match up, closing the 2025 season with a 3-1 loss.Â
Lauren Marquardt of Rose-Hulman (RHIT) scored on a goal in the 7th minute to give the Fighting Engineers an early lead.
Eva Blanke would find a shot opportunity in the 33rd minute, but it went high. Sydnee Schuler would score the second first half goal for RHIT in the 40th minute.Â
Olivia Thomas opened the second half for the Pioneers with a goal in the 60th minute to pull the Pioneers to within one. Makenna Johnson found a shot opportunity in the 72nd minute, but it would be saved by RHIT's Brooke Spurlock. Schuler would score on her second goal of the evening to give RHIT a two goal advantage in the 76th minute. Thomas would find another shot opportunity for the Pioneers in the 80th minute, but RHIT's Spurlock would deflect for the save. Transylvania's
Carrie Stevens would save a shot attempt from Marquardt in the 84th minute, but Rose-Hulman would ultimately come away with the 3-1 victory to advance in the 2025 HCAC Tournament.Â
Stevens recorded seven saves in a full 90:00 performance in the goal for the Pioneers.Â
Transylvania closes the 2025 season at 6-9-5, including a 5-1-3 mark in the HCAC.Â
