LEXINGTON, KY- Transylvania Women's Basketball won their home game 60-54 HCAC opponent Mount St. Joseph Lions at the Clive M. Beck Center. The Pioneers swept the Lions last season. With the win, the Pioneers improved to 5-2 on the season.
Transylvania had three different players score in double figures with
Riley Flinn, leading Pioneers scorers with 16 points. Three different Pioneers had five rebounds apiece while
Makya Grinter and
Sierra Kemelgor both dished out three assists respectively.
The score was even 8-8 going into the first timeout of the game. The Lions were leading the Pioneers after the first quarter 14-11.
Riley Flinn was the leading scorer for the Pioneers after the first 10 minutes with five points while three different Pioneers players each had three rebounds. The Lions were still leading the Pioneers at halftime with a score 28-25.

Sierra Kemelgor dished out three assists for the Pioneers during the first half. The Pioneers were leading the Lions in blocks during the first half 4-3 and also in steals 4-1.
The Pioneers took their first lead since the 7:30 mark in the second quarter with a 32-31 lead during the third quarter. However, the Lions retook the lead shortly after. The game remained close throughout the third quarter. The Pioneers were leading the visiting Lions 41-40 after three quarters of play.
 The Pioneers were still leading going into the middle of the fourth quarter with a lead of 47-46. However, the Lions made a three-point shot to regained the lead. With one minute left in the game, the Pioneers were leading 56-51. The Pioneers won 60-54. The Pioneers shot 36.7 percent from the floor while 31.8 percent from the three-point arc.

The game starts at 3:00 p.m.
