LEXINGTON, KY — Transylvania advanced to the HCAC Final with an 86–75 win over Franklin on Wednesday night at the Clive M. Beck Center, using a dominant second half to pull away.
Hunter Barr led the Pioneers with 22 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks, while Drew Marshall delivered 21 points, four assists, and four rebounds. Jaxon Smith added 14 points and two steals, and Ian Reesor finished with nine points and seven boards. Luke Idlett chipped in eight points and two assists.
After leading 35–34 at halftime, the Pioneers erupted for 51 second-half points, shooting 56% from the field and 20-for-22 at the free-throw line after the break. Transylvania took control with a 13–2 run early in the second half, highlighted by a three from Marshall and a transition three from Smith.
Dakota Capps provided seven points, while J.C. Walbert and Cayden Lancaster combined for five more off the bench. Transylvania finished the night shooting 52.8% from the floor and posted a 44–36 advantage in points in the paint.
With the win, Transylvania advances to the HCAC Final on Saturday, February 28.
