LEXINGTON, KY — Transylvania defeated DePauw 18-12 at Pat Deacon Stadium.
The Pioneers were led by Andrew Welch, who scored six goals in the win. Jack Miller added five goals, while Huck Campbell recorded a team-high eight assists. Transylvania finished with 47 shots, including 13 on goal, while recording 10 saves and committing 11 turnovers. The Pioneers also posted 21 clears and collected 37 ground balls.
DePauw scored within the first couple minutes of the game, but Miller answered with Transylvania's first goal. The Pioneers then added two goals from Charlie Horner to take a 3-1 lead. Miller followed with his second goal of the afternoon to extend the lead to 4-1, and Welch added another to make it 5-1. After the Tigers scored their second goal, Welch responded with his second of the game to give Transylvania a 6-2 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Pioneers dominated face-offs during the period, going 9-0.
DePauw made a run in the second quarter with two early goals to reduce the Pioneers' lead to 6-4. The Tigers added another goal to cut the deficit to one. Transylvania responded with a goal from Samuel Archer to take a 7-5 lead with five minutes remaining in the half. DePauw answered with two goals to tie the game at 7-7, but Miller scored his third goal of the half to give the Pioneers an 8-7 lead at halftime. Transylvania recorded 21 shots in the first half, including 16 on goal. DePauw opened the scoring after halftime, but Welch scored twice to help Transylvania regain control.
The Pioneers led 12-9 after three quarters, with Miller adding two goals in the period. The Tigers scored early in the final quarter before Transylvania answered to take a 13-10 lead. Welch later pushed the advantage to 14-11 with five minutes remaining. Ben Gaccino added two goals to extend the lead to 17-12, and a late goal by Josh Harney secured the 18-12 victory. The win improves Transylvania to 5-2 on the season. The Pioneers return home on Friday, March 20, 2026, to face Kalamazoo College. Face-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
