NORTH MANCHESTER, IN — Transylvania earned a 7–1 win over Manchester on Sunday evening at Gratz Field.
The Pioneers took control early, scoring four runs in the second inning.
Brenton Alcorn and
Nick Pietromonaco each drove in a run on sacrifice flies, while
Seita Shiratori added an RBI single to highlight the inning.
Transylvania added another run in the third on a solo home run from
Chris Hedinger before extending the lead in the fourth.
Ethan Dillon delivered a two-run home run to push the advantage to 7–0.
Manchester scored its lone run in the fifth inning, but the Pioneer pitching staff limited further damage to secure the win.
Shiratori led the offense with a hit, an RBI, and two stolen bases, while Alcorn recorded a hit and an RBI.
Kaden Ford added two hits and an RBI, and Dillon and Hedinger each homered in the victory.
On the mound,
Logan Cobb earned the win with three scoreless innings.
Cole Mischel followed with two innings of relief, allowing one run while striking out three.
Transylvania improves to 11–6 on the season.
