LOUISVILLE, KY — Transylvania defeated Spalding 27–1 on Saturday afternoon in the opening match up of the 2026 HCLC Tournament, advancing to the Tournament Final on Sunday at Pat Deacon Stadium.
The Pioneers controlled the game from the opening whistle, scoring 11 goals in the first quarter and taking a commanding 19–0 lead into halftime. Transylvania continued to build the lead in the second half before allowing a single goal in the fourth quarter.
Huck Campbell and Jack Miller led the offensive explosion with four goals each, while Charlie Horner added three goals. Andrew Mazy, Andrew Welch, Jack McKiernan and Jaxon Eldridge each contributed two goals, and multiple Pioneers found the back of the net in the win.
Transylvania moved the ball efficiently throughout the contest, totaling 17 assists, with Aven Blair, Samuel Archer, Andrew Welch, Noah Siler, Jack McKiernan, Ben Gaccino and Jaxon Eldridge each recording multiple assists.
The Pioneers dominated possession, holding a 76–8 advantage in total shots and winning 25 faceoffs. Transylvania also controlled ground balls by a 45–14 margin.
In goal, Nick DeGrandi earned the win, recording six saves. Transylvania improves to 12–4 overall and 4–0 in HCAC play. Transylvania will take on Hanover at Pat Deacon Stadium on Sunday for the 2026 HCLC Tournament Championship.
