Women's Lacrosse Claims HCLC Regular Season Title

LOUISVILLE, KY — Transylvania rolled to a 20–5 win over Spalding on Saturday afternoon, claiming the 2026 HCLC Regular Season Title and the top seed in the 2026 HCLC Tournament.

The Pioneers used a dominant second half to pull away, outscoring Spalding 11–3 after taking a 9–2 lead into halftime.

Layla Hobbs-Powell led the offensive explosion with seven goals, while Avery Kirkhope added three goals and a game-high seven assists. Presley Helton and Kaelin Truman each recorded three and two goals, respectively, and Grace Bruner added two goals in the win.

Transylvania controlled the pace throughout the contest, holding a 46–13 advantage in total shots and a 37–19 edge in ground balls. The Pioneers also won 14 draw controls and forced 33 turnovers.

In goal, Ruby Himes earned the win, recording four saves.

Transylvania improves to 10–7 overall and 4–0 in HCAC play.
