ANDERSON, IN — Transylvania University claimed the 2026 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championship on Sunday after carding the lowest team round of the tournament in the final day of competition at Anderson Country Club.
The Pioneers entered the final round tied with Rose-Hulman before firing a 330 on Sunday to finish with a three-round total of 1005 (+141), 13 strokes ahead of the Fightin' Engineers at 1018 (+154). Mount St. Joseph placed third at 1039 (+175).
Sophomore Nicole Mears led the way for Transylvania throughout the tournament, finishing tied for third individually with rounds of 81, 82 and 81 for a 244 total (+28). Freshman Ginger Mooser also earned a top-10 finish after rounds of 83, 85 and 82 placed her tied for eighth overall at +36.
Emery Herron tied for 12th overall with rounds of 87, 86 and 84, while Addilyn Johnson finished tied for 14th overall for the Pioneers after posting rounds of 89, 82 and 88. Macy Saylor tied for 14th after rounds of 89, 87 and 83, including her best round of the weekend on Sunday.
Transylvania improved its team score in every round of the championship, posting rounds of 344, 339 and 330 across the three-day event.
Head Coach Tom Campbell was named HCAC Coach of the Year, while Nicole Mears took home All-Tournament honors.
"What an amazing weekend with this team! I'm so proud of this group and the resilience and patience they showed for three rounds. They rallied around each other and found a way," said Head Coach Tom Campbell. "We're excited to head to Palm Springs and our first NCAA Tournament since 2018-19. I'm a proud alum today."
