WILMORE, KY – Transylvania opened the 2026 season with a 1-0 road victory over Asbury on Tuesday night under the lights at Asbury.
After a scoreless first half, Cole Varela broke the deadlock in the 47th minute, converting a penalty kick to give the Pioneers the only goal they would need. Transylvania controlled much of the action, finishing with a 10-3 advantage in shots, an 8-2 edge in shots on goal and an 8-2 advantage in corner kicks. Ethan Drew recorded two saves in goal to earn the shutout.
