High School: Long was a two year letter-winner in baseball and was recognized with top academic honors ... he also played football for two years and was the recipient of the Lasallian Academic Scholar Award ... vice president of the National Honors Society ... pitcher for the number two 5A team in the state of Missouri helping guide his team to the state championship game in 2013.
