Ben Schaeffer joins the Transylvania University Men’s Lacrosse coaching staff as Offensive Coordinator for the 2025–26 season. A Lexington, Kentucky native, Schaeffer brings a strong background in player development, offensive strategy, and regional recruiting to the Pioneers program.
Schaeffer is a graduate of Swarthmore College, where he played attack for the Garnet men’s lacrosse team. Competing in the rigorous Centennial Conference, he gained valuable experience in high-level Division III play, developing a deep understanding of offensive systems, spacing, and team dynamics.
After graduating, Schaeffer returned to Lexington and quickly became a key figure in the local lacrosse community. He has coached with the Commonwealth Kings Lacrosse Club and other youth development programs, focusing on offensive player development and team culture while working with TU program in a volunteer role in previous seasons. His coaching style emphasizes creativity, communication, and smart decision-making on the field.
Schaeffer’s familiarity with Kentucky’s lacrosse landscape, along with his collegiate playing experience and coaching acumen, make him a strong addition to Transylvania’s coaching staff. He will oversee the development and implementation of the team’s offensive strategies, with a focus on building a dynamic and disciplined group.
Coach Schaeffer is currently in his third year of Law School at the University of Kentucky.
