Connor Haney

Connor Haney is a Lexington, Kentucky native who has significantly contributed to the local lacrosse scene both as a player and a coach. He began his lacrosse journey at Henry Clay High School in Lexington, where he played as a goaltender for the varsity team from 2014 to 2018. During his high school career, Haney achieved impressive records, including a 14-4 record in his freshman year and a 13-6 record as a junior, with district championships in each season.

Haney continued his lacrosse career at Transylvania University, where he played as a goaltender for the Pioneers from 2019 to 2022. Over his collegiate career, he appeared in 22 games, achieving a 12-4 record. In his senior year, Haney earned the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Defensive Athlete of the Week honors after leading the Pioneers to two crucial home victories, making a total of 25 saves over the two games.

Transitioning to coaching, Haney served as the Goalie Coach for Transylvania University’s men’s lacrosse team, where he led specialized training sessions focusing on goalkeeping skills, including footwork, shot-stopping, and clearing techniques. He also contributed to the broader lacrosse community by coaching youth players as an assistant lacrosse coach in Lexington, Kentucky, starting in June 2023.  Additionally, Haney has been involved in organizing and leading lacrosse camps and clinics, such as the Goalie Academy, aimed at developing goalkeeping skills among high school and middle school players.

Haney’s dedication to lacrosse is evident through his progression from a standout high school player to a collegiate athlete and now as a coach committed to nurturing the next generation of lacrosse talent in Lexington and beyond.
