Katie Vautier

Katie Vautier

Katie Vautier is in her second year as an assistant coach for the Transylvania women’s lacrosse team. Since her arrival the Pioneers have continued their upward progression, setting a program record for most wins in her first year of 2017.

A defender during her playing days, Vautier has applied her winning philosophy to the Pioneers program. Vautier brought her experience to the defense and goalkeeping units, resulting in the Pioneers leading the ORLC in 2017 in goals-against average.

With Vautier offering her expertise to the backline units, the Pioneers led the conference in clears and finished top-three in the ORLC in ground balls.

Prior to her time in Lexington at Transylvania, Vautier served as an assistant coach at Annapolis High School in Annapolis, Maryland for the varsity program and also as the head coach of the junior varsity team. Along with her duties at Annapolis High School, Vautier spent four years as a coach for the Chesapeake Club Lacrosse program in Annapolis.

Before her coaching days, Vautier was an All-American athlete for NCAA Division III York College (Pa.) where she played four years for the Spartans. Vautier was a three-time All-Capital Athletic Conference First Team Selection and completed her career in 2013 as an IWLCA Second Team All-American while York advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. She graduated from York as the all-time leader in caused turnovers.

Vautier attained her master’s degree in Forensic Science from Towson University in the spring of 2016.
