Caroline Ellis enters her second year as a volunteer assistant with the Transylvania Volleyball coaching staff for the Fall 2022 season. 

In her first season on head coach Amy Barmore’s staff in Fall 2021, Ellis helped propel the Transylvania team to their third consecutive HCAC Championship, after going 23-13 on the season and 7-2 in conference matchups. With her contributions in guiding a young but highly talented squad, four Pioneers received All-HCAC honors, including the Newcomer of the Year.

Ellis brings a diverse array of coaching experience to Transy. Since 2016, Ellis has served as a coach with Union Volleyball Club in Indiana and Kentucky. Locally, Ellis has served as the JV coach at Tates Creek High School in Lexington where she guided the team to their first JV District Championship. Additionally, Ellis spent the past two years coaching at Jessie Clark Middle School, leading teams to the A, B, and C Team Championships in 2019, and another A Team Championship in 2020.

Ellis recently completed her first season coaching with Alpha Volleyball Club in Lexington, coaching the 14 Navy team and also overseeing youth ages 11-18 in various summer camps and clinics.

Ellis played her collegiate volleyball at nearby Georgetown College, starring as a 4-year starter for the Tigers from 2014 through 2018. While at Georgetown, Ellis pushed the Tigers to an MSC Title and the Elite 8 Round at the NAIA National Championships. Ellis recorded 1,000 as a Tiger and in her final season at Georgetown, earned NAIA All-American honors as well as MSC First Team All-Conference honors.
