Hunter Barr Wins HCAC Athlete of the Week for the Third Time

CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) men's basketball teams competed in week 11 of the 2025-26 season. Hunter Barr's dominance continues in Week 11, as he earns Athlete of the Week Honors for the third time this season. 
 
Athlete of the Week:
Hunter Barr (Hardinsburg, Ky.) Transylvania University | Forward | Junior - Hunter Barr led Transylvania in an 81-42 victory over Earlham on Wednesday with 16 points and eight rebounds. He then returned for Friday night's 86-61 win over Anderson with 25 points, nine rebounds, two blocks, and two steals.

Notable Performances:
  • Ian Snelling (Erlanger, Ky.) Bluffton University | Guard | Graduate - Ian Snelling led the Beavers to a 1-1 mark in HCAC action over the week, including an 84-75 home win against Hanover on Saturday. He dropped 16.5 points per game on 11-for-25 shooting from the field, including 3-of-9 outside the arc. Snelling ripped down a team-best 8.5 rebounds per game and dished out 2.5 assists per game.
  • Cooper Matthews (Hamilton, Ohio) Franklin College | Guard | Junior - Cooper Matthews delivered strong all-around play in a pair of Franklin wins. He registered 18 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and six steals in a comeback victory over HCAC co-leader Anderson on Wednesday. He followed up with 10 points and eight boards in just 20 minutes of play at Earlham.
  • Cam Freeman (Indianapolis, Ind.) Hanover College | Guard | Junior - Cam Freeman led Hanover to a 1-1 week as it defeated Berea and took on Bluffton. The junior turned in a double-double in the win over Berea, netting 10 points and dishing out 10 assists. He also added five rebounds and four steals. At Bluffton, the point guard followed it up with seven points and seven assists.
  • Cooper Ollis (Hamilton, Ohio) Mount St. Joseph University | Guard | Freshman - Cooper Ollis led Mount St. Joseph to a 2-0 week with wins over Manchester and Bluffton. In the win over Manchester, he scored a career-high 28 points. For the week he averaged 22.5 points per game, 4.5 rebounds per game, 2.0 assists per game, and 2.0 steals per game.
  • Joey Schmitz (Bargersville, Ind.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Guard | Sophomore - Joey Schmitz was a standout for Rose-Hulman as the team went 2-0 in HCAC play with wins over Manchester and Berea. Schmitz totaled 12 points with a team-high six rebounds in the win over the Spartans. He followed that by leading the team in scoring against Berea with 17 points. Over the week, he averaged 14.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. He shot 32 percent (9-for-28) from the field and 41 percent (7-for-17) from beyond the arc.
