INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Transylvania's men's tennis team swept past Defiance and Anderson Saturday, vaulting into the Heartland Conference Tournament Championship at the West Indy Racquet Club.

The Pioneers improved to 10-4 on the season after topping Defiance 5-1 and Anderson, 5-0.

The Pioneers will be looking for their ninth HCAC tourney title in a row against Earlham, which defeated Rose-Hulman 5-2 to reach the finals. Transy defeated Rose-Hulman during regular season play, but the Quakers took an 8-1 decision over the Pioneers, halting their record 68-match HCAC winning streak.

Also on the line is the HCAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship. Transy has been in the post-season tournament the last four years in a row.

The championship match will begin at 9 a.m.
