MEMPHIS, Tenn. - For the second day in a row, Transylvania saw a hotly contested game slip away in the second half as Rhodes took an 8-1 win over the Pioneers in field hockey action.
Transy is 2-6 on the season while the Tigers improve to 4-2.
Rhodes led by a pair of goals at halftime, 2-0. The home team got on the board twice more in the first eight minutes of the second half before Transy dented the scoreboard on a goal by
Ruth Kloha (Ashland, KY, Blazer).
Kloha's goal came in the 59th minute as she slammed home a rebound of a
Sara Clark (Louisville, KY, Mercy Academy) shot that was saved. It was her team-high fifth score of the season and made it 5-1.
Rhodes made the game appear more lopsided than it was with three goals in the last seven minutes.

Sara Aschbacher (Louisville, KY, Sacred Heart Academy) had 14 saves for the Pioneers.
Transy returns to action on Oct. 7 when it hosts Hendrix at 7 p.m. at Hall Field.
