Box Score ANDERSON, Ind. – Transylvania's Nicole Coffman scored 16 points Saturday and Katelyn Smith added 13, fueling the Pioneers over Anderson 63-51 in Heartland Conference women's basketball action.

The Pioneers are 3-1, 1-0 HCAC, while the Ravens are 0-5, 0-1 HCAC.

Transy never trailed after the early going and built its advantage to as many as 16 points. 55-39, on a Kayla Dobson layup at the 7:23 mark. The Pioneers scored six of their final eight points at the free throw line as the Ravens fouled in an effort to catch up.

Transy's lead never dropped below eight points in the second half.

Alex McKenzie was the third Pioneer in double figures with 12 points and she also grabbed seven rebounds. Madisen Webb contributed nine points and six rebounds. Amy Wuestefeld had 15 points to pace the Ravens, but she was the only Anderson player in double figures.

Transy shot 43 percent from the field to just 32 percent for Anderson, which scored just 21 points in the second half. Transy had 21 turnovers to 22 for the home team and the Pioneers held a 22-13 scoring edge from the free throw line. The Pioneers also outrebounded the Ravens, 34-33.

Transy trailed Anderson 18-16 at the midway point of the first half before running off a 13-2 streak to grab a nine-point advantage, 29-20, at the 5:10 mark on Coffman's three. It was the largest lead of the game to that point for the Pioneers.

The Transy margin was five, 35-30, at intermission as Smith popped in eight points and Coffman added seven. Both teams shot well in the period, with Transy connecting on 46 percent from the field and the Ravens canning 52 percent.  The Pioneers were also perfect in 10 free throw attempts.
Wuestefeld led Anderson with 11 points in the first half.

The Pioneers will remain in HCAC play on Wednesday when they travel to Earlham for a 7:30 p.m. matchup with the Quakers.
