LEXINGTON, Ky. - Transylvania men's tennis dropped a close matchup to Rose-Hulman Saturday, falling for only the second time to a Heartland Conference opponent in 10 years, 5-4.
In doubles competition, the Pioneers dropped all three seeded matchups to the Engineers. Despite being down 3-0, Transylvania refused to give up.
No. 1 seeded
Robert Albrecht gained an early 6-1,3-0 advantage over Rose-Hulman opponent Brandon Benedict, but fumbled late, losing the third set 6-3. Benedict would rally in the third set, winning 6-4.

Dylan Conner and the No.4, 5, and 6 seeds of
Patrick Richardson,
Steven Mayborg, and
Reza Haider that would come through for the team, as each defeated their Engineer opponents handidly in two sets each. However, Rose-Hulman would gain the upperhand after No. 3 Matthew Conrad would trump Transylvania's Josh Buckman 6-3, 6-3 to take the match.
Transylvania men's tennis (1-5, 1-1) will continue their conference season on the road, facing Earlham at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9.
