DANVILLE, Ky.—The home standing men's tennis team of Centre College edged Transylvania's men's teams 5-4 Saturday.

Dylan Conner and Luke Groene picked up an 8-4 win in doubles play, but the Colonels topped the Pioneers in the other two doubles matches.

In singles play, Zachary Meikle defeated Centre's Alex Wermeling 6-1, 6-3 giving the Pioneers a point for the match. Josh Buckman picked up another point for the Pioneers with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Lucas Brooks, before Groene posted a 6-3, 6-2 win over Danny Miller.

Transylvania hosts Franklin College Thursday in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference match. Thursday's match is scheduled for 3 p.m.
