HANOVER, Ind.—The Transylvania University men's tennis team routed homestanding Hanover College 9-0 in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference match Monday at Zeddies Tennis Center.
Robert Albrecht and Zach Meikle took the first points of the match with an 8-6 win over Hanover's Nolan Carrico and Reid Clark.
Josh Buckman and Luke Groene followed suit picking up a 9-7 win over Brian Clark and Alex Kitchel, as Dylan Conner and Seth Gannon finished the sweep of doubles play winning 8-1 over Jon Craig and Douglas Seals.
The Pioneers entered singles play up 3-0, before sweeping singles play on their way to the 9-0 rout.
Albrecht, Conner, Meikle, Groene and Gannon all picked up wins in singles play, as did Josh Buckman.
The win pushes Transy's record to 4-4 in conference play. The Pioneers host non-conference opponent Berea College Tuesday.
Tuesday's match is scheduled for 5 p.m.
