Lexington, Ky. – The Transylvania men's tennis team suffered a 7-2 loss to the Wittenberg University Tigers on the second day of the Transylvania Invitational at Top Seed Tennis Club on Saturday evening.
The loss drops Transylvania's record to 0-3 on the season, while the Tigers improve to 3-1 overall.
After dropping four straight singles matches, the Pioneers picked up their victory of the day when Noah McNamee claimed a 7-5, 6-1 win over Brayden Kopp in the No. 2 singles matchup.
Trailing the Tigers 7-1 overall in the match, Transylvania capped off the day with a thrilling 8-7 victory by the duo of Nick and Noah McNamee at No. 1 doubles.
The Pioneers will be back in action tomorrow afternoon for the third and final day of the Transylvania Invitational. Transylvania takes on Ohio Northern at 1:00 p.m. at Top Seed Tennis Club.
